IAI Stunners record first club win!!!
The IAI Stunners 6th grade girls basketball team recorded its first win for the newly formed club Sunday morning October 26th at the Lin-Mar Lions tournament beating the host Lin-Mar 7th grade team 18-16. The girls were complimented for their aggressive play by the scorekeepers. The Stunners came out strong early going up 7-2. They were able to hold off a late rally with strong rebounding and using their shell offense to take 90 seconds off the clock without a turnover to secure the win. Afterwards the girls thanked LinMar head varsity coach Mike Brandt for letting them compete. He was very courteous about how well the girls played and conducted themselves. We look forward to returning next season to fight for the championship. Congratulations to all the Stunners girls for a great win!!!

IAI Stunners mid season report:
The IAI Stunners 6th grade girls basketball team starts the new year after finishing the first half of the season 14-13 against 7th grade competition and 6-1 against 6th grade teams. The Stunners set some big goals and continue to work hard in practice to achieve them. Good luck Stunners!!

MGBA tourney. The IAI Stunners earned 2nd place at the MGBA tournament in Moline in the 7th grade division. They went 3-0 in pool play beating Moline White, River City Bruins, and Ranglers to advance to the championship. They then lost a tough game to Moline Maroon. Great job ladies.

New Years Shoot. The IAI Stunners went 2-1 in the New Years Shoot 7th grade tournament at Beyond The Baseline. They beat Jr Panthers and FLK and were defeated by Holy Trinity that ended up taking 2nd place. So far this half of the season The Stunners are 5-2 against 7th grade competition. Keep up the hard work.

On Monday January 11th we learned so much about The IAI Stunners in leadership training.  Lyric has alot of things in her classroom, Jada likes people with gasoline cans, Belle is a philosopher, Sarah is one step away from the Whitehouse, Abbie likes Orphan, Janey has many role models, Madelyn will make a great coach,  McKenzie can get aliens to understand her, Meaghan thinks softball is an okay sport, and Adaira may quit basketball to become an astronaut.  Then on Monday, January 18th the girls continued their leadership training doing a great job working with the My First Basketball League 1st and 2nd graders.  

New Years Shoot. The IAI Stunners went 4-0 and captured the 6th grade New Years Shoot Championship out of 12 teams.  They beat FLK, Jr Prophets, and The West Falcons to make it to the championship.  They then won a hard fought game against The Cedar Rapids Bulldogs to win the championship.   So far in 2010 The Stunners are 9-2.  Great job Stunners.
